About the founder

I am Nihanth Tatikonda, founder and president of Evergreen Chess Club. I have worked with younger kids and hosted many nationally rated chess tournaments. My vision for ECC is to build a long-term chess ecosystem where beginners and competitive players alike can access consistent coaching, quality events, and a supportive community.

I hold a ~1600 USCF and NWSRS rating, have been playing chess for 7 years, am a top-10 11th grader in Washington, the team captain of the BHS varsity team, and have earned multiple top-3 finishes at state-level tournaments.

Whether you are just learning the moves or sharpening your tactics, I would love to help you take the next step.
