Camp schedule

Five 1-hour sessions

  • Session 1: Monday, Dec 29, 2025 — 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Session 2: Tuesday, Dec 30, 2025 — 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Session 3: Wednesday, Dec 31, 2025 — 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Session 4: Friday, Jan 2, 2026 — 10:00-11:00 AM
  • Session 5: Saturday, Jan 3, 2026 — 10:00-11:00 AM

All sessions are 1 hour long, running from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Join us for this comprehensive winter chess camp experience!

Session topics

Each session will cover key concepts to build strong chess foundations. Topics may include:

  • Smart move habits and chess foundations
  • Opening basics: developing pieces, controlling the center, and castling
  • Winning tactics: forks, pins, and capturing free pieces
  • King attacks and simple checkmate patterns
  • Endgames, review, and next steps

Topics and pacing are flexible and will be adjusted based on the group's progress and needs.

About the instructor

Nihanth Tatikonda brings extensive experience and expertise to every class. As a USCF Certified TD & Coach with 7 years of competitive chess experience, Nihanth is dedicated to helping students develop their skills in a supportive, engaging environment.

Nihanth is the founder and president of Evergreen Chess Club, and has worked with players of all ages to improve their game through clear instruction and practical application.
